Ciao! After a rather early, jet-lag induced, wake up at 5 a.m. I was unable to fall back asleep so instead decided to stay up and watch the sunrise. I ventured downstairs around 8:30, discovered the delight that is Nescafe, and headed out with Benedetta on a couple errands. Getting home at 10, I was shortly thereafter picked up by Molly and Bella, two other local Au Pairs, as we continued along to meet up with the rest of our fellow travelers for a cappuccino. Meeting at La Farmacia, the seven of us (Myles and Molly from England, Bethany from Charlottesville, Bella from North Carolina, Khiara from Italy, and Diya from India) quickly became friends and decided to explore Cento’s weekly Thursday market. After adventuring, Bella, Molly, and I headed to LIDL to grab drinks for tomorrow night’s planned outing before dropping me off back at the Negrini’s…

Gaia and Luca got home not long after (Gio had a basketball game and was away all day) so Gaia and I walked a few kilometers down the Via Cannabusa and talked the whole way. After getting back Luca and I went outside and played soccer for longer than I think I’ve played since my time back on the Mary Wash team. Feeling triumphant after a penalty shootout win, we ventured back inside for a couple games of FIFA and a very long game of Risk from which Luca came out on top.
For dinner today, we had bean soup as a starter, tuna meatloaf with spinach as a main, and the best orange I’ve ever eaten as a dessert (before Carlo loaded what seemed to be a huge slice of cake onto my plate). Before being able to slip into a food coma, we all briefly watched Gaia’s friend playing in an Amateur golf tournament on ESPN. But now, with the shutters closed and my laptop charging, I can’t wait to fall asleep and enjoy more of the same tomorrow. Buonanotte!
